Job Summary
A bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, in accordance with customer preferences and establishment standards. They often engage with customers, take orders, and handle cash transactions. Bartenders may also monitor bar inventory, restock supplies, and ensure a clean and organized work area. Excellent communication, multitasking, and customer service skills are essential in this role. Additionally, bartenders may be required to adhere to legal regulations related to the service of alcoholic beverages.
 
 
To succeed as a bartender, you should have a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.


Responsibilities 
Bartenders have various responsibilities, including but not limited to: 
 
1. **Mixing and Serving Drinks:** Bartenders prepare and serve a variety of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, according to customer preferences and established recipes. 
 
2. **Customer Interaction:** Engaging with customers, taking drink orders, and providing recommendations. Good customer service skills are crucial. 
 
3. **Cash Handling:** Handling cash transactions, processing payments, and giving change accurately. 
 
4. **Maintaining Cleanliness:** Keeping the bar area clean and organized, including washing glassware, utensils, and maintaining a hygienic workspace. 
 
5. **Inventory Management:** Monitoring and managing bar inventory, restocking supplies, and notifying management when items are running low. 
 
6. **Checking Identification:** Ensuring customers meet legal drinking age requirements and verifying identification when necessary. 
 
7. **Adhering to Regulations:** Following legal regulations and policies related to the service of alcoholic beverages, including responsible service practices. 
 
8. **Handling Bar Equipment:** Operating and maintaining bar equipment, such as taps, blenders, and cash registers. 
 
9. **Creating a Welcoming Atmosphere:** Contributing to the overall ambiance of the establishment and providing an enjoyable experience for patrons. 
 
10. **Teamwork:** Collaborating with other staff members, such as barbacks and servers, to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment. 

 
 
Qualifications 
  • 1-3 years experience (preferred not required).
  • Previous knowledge of food service regulations preferred.
  • ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification, or willing to obtain.
  • TABC Certification or willing to obtain.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Works well with others.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $2.13 per hour
